HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA – December 15, 2014 – DC Shoes is proud to announce Wes Kremer’s win of Thrasher Magazine’s Skater of the Year title for 2014. Kremer received the award during Thrasher’s annual Skater of the Year event in San Francisco on Saturday, December 13th, with the entire skateboard industry in attendance to hear the news and celebrate his incredible accomplishment.
Thrasher’s iconic award is the most lauded in the industry and given to only one skater each year, based on their cumulative efforts and achievements over the course of the previous 12 months. Throughout 2014, Kremer earned a 16-page interview in Thrasher Magazine and released three heavy hitting and widely viewed video parts – DC’s “Crusty by Nature” and “Extra Crusty” and Thrasher and Sk8Mafia’s “Pack of Hydes”. Constant travel across the globe, from Brazil and Indonesia to Peru and Portugal, resulted in photos and footage that is sure to continue shaking up the industry into 2015.

Kremer joined the DC Shoes skate team in 2008 and since then has been pushing the limits of creativity in the streets with his raw style of gritty skating. Hailing from San Diego, Kremer was named TransWorld Skateboarding’s Rookie of the Year in 2012. Past Skater of the Year winners include DC’s Danny Way (1991 and 2004) and Chris Cole (2005 and 2009), who are the only two skaters to have ever received the award more than once. With Kremer only a few years into his pro career, he has ample time to join the ranks of his legendary DC teammates.
